Helpful information for managing your packaging needs
Consider your product weight and volume. A standard 48x40x36" box handles most applications, but taller 48" heights may be better for lightweight, bulky items. Always verify weight limits for your specific box grade.
Store pallets off the ground when not in use. Rotate stock to prevent moisture damage. Report damaged pallets promptly for repair before they become unusable. Proper forklift handling reduces damage significantly.
Always verify compatibility between container materials and your product. Store totes indoors or covered to prevent UV degradation of plastic bottles. Rinse thoroughly between uses to prevent contamination.
Grade A pallets are like-new with minimal wear. Grade B have cosmetic imperfections but full structural integrity. Grade C show wear but function well for single-trip shipping. Match grade to your application.
Plan packaging needs 4-6 weeks ahead during peak seasons (harvest, holiday shipping). Lock in pricing and reserve inventory early to avoid shortages and rush charges during high-demand periods.
Partnering with us for recycling services generates value from end-of-life packaging. We pay fair market rates for recyclable materials and provide documentation for sustainability reporting.
International shipments require ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets with proper stamps. Domestic shipments to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US territories also need heat treatment. Verify requirements before ordering.
Estimate your container needs by calculating product volume and weight. Factor in seasonal peaks and build in a 10-15% buffer for unexpected demand. Regular customers benefit from setting up standing orders.
Proper forklift entry prevents pallet damage. Enter forks fully into pallet openings, lift loads evenly, and avoid dropping loads from height. Train operators on proper handling to extend pallet life.
When stacking gaylord boxes, place heavier loads on the bottom. Do not exceed 2-3 boxes high depending on contents. Use corner protectors for stability and check that lower boxes can support the weight.
When receiving used containers, check for structural integrity, cleanliness, and proper labeling. Report any issues within 48 hours of delivery. Document concerns with photos for fastest resolution.

The corrugated packaging market continues to evolve with e-commerce driving demand. Recycled content in new boxes now averages 35-50%, and used gaylord boxes offer even greater sustainability benefits.
The IBC tote market is growing at 6% annually, driven by food and beverage, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Reconditioned totes meet the same standards as new units at significant cost savings.
Recent supply chain disruptions have highlighted the value of local suppliers. Working with regional packaging partners reduces transit times, provides flexibility, and minimizes supply disruptions.
The circular economy model is transforming packaging. Products designed for reuse, repair, and recycling reduce waste and costs. Many companies now require suppliers to participate in circular systems.
International phytosanitary regulations continue to tighten. Businesses shipping internationally should verify pallet compliance and maintain documentation. Non-compliance can result in shipment delays and fines.
